Opportunities: We have been given land to build the first Christian radio station in Juba, South Sudan. We have the opportunity to build 1,000 thriving churches in South Sudan and to organize a National Prayer event for the country in collaboration with the president. Opportunity to launch a business incubator. To build the best primary and secondary school in the country with curriculum specially written for our ministry to teach Christian principles and Biblical foundations for character and work ethic. To expand our children’s home to include 40 children total.
How much I believe with you, that God IS going to do it- get the Gospel to those who are hungry. It seems prayer is necessary for every part of it- the seeds to be sown, the sower, the one to water, the hungry heart to be drawn to Him to receive, and the thorns, cares of the world or birds- not take away the seed, but that it take root, and then bear fruit.
Such a process- and it all takes prayer. There is really little the human strength can do. We can mobilize, hold massive meetings, etc- and they all walk away- and only 10 remain steadfast. Many saw all the miracles Jesus performed, and still left Him.
It takes real discipleship- the Word of God taking root, and transforming the heart and mind- and that takes time, diligence, patience, consistency, and focus. Even after the seeds of the Word are planted, the hearts must be kept ’tilled’ and soft, until fruit is born, and multiplication takes place.
The good thing, is that God can speed up this process, and He does say He will do a ‘quick work in righteousness because the days are evil and the time is short.’ He says He will redeem the time, and He WILL raise up laborers if we will pray.
I feel a bit of what Paul must have felt on his heart- that with the challenges within and without, and the young churches calling- the needs immense- Bibles, teachers, training, tools, resources, financial support, and so much more- that he walked through the persecution he was going through (which we have never come close to!)- but all the while, carried the burden of the churches within his heart.
This is precious time. And time I am carrying the nation of Uganda- Northern and South Sudan very deeply on my heart- in agreement with the team who are in intense prayer daily in Gulu. I wrote the prayer guide for them and more verses- and they are in full days of prayer for these 2 weeks. (just as we used to do every 3 months as a ministry)
This season, I am standing for supernatural understanding on supernatural provision. As we do our part- and develop, put in place, etc etc- all we can for ‘writing the vision’, I believe God will breathe on it. And there will be supernatural breakthrough and supply- just as is all through the Bible (the wealth of Egypt- given to the Israelites as they left their bondage, Abraham being made ‘rich’ by God, and the children of Israel given cities they didn’t build, wells they didn’t dig, and fields they didn’t plant.)
We will see that again- but not for the exploit of men (although I do believe God would love to bless His own children)- but there must be such an ‘exceedingly abundantly above and beyond’ for the sake of building the Kingdom- and quite quickly- while there is still time. We will see it provided. I don’t know how- but there is no other way to reach South Sudan with vision, prayer, churches, and leadership – without that.
